Course Description

The Structural Collapse Breaching and Breaking Workshop provide you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform Breaching and Breaking Operations to access collapsed structures at structural collapse scenes due to natural disasters or man-made incidents. This course is two days and 20 hours of face-to-face (Instructor-Led) training and includes:

  • Breaching and Breaking tools including drills, saws, and breakers
  • Petrogen and Oxyacetylene torches
  • “Clean” and “Dirty” breaching methods

This course is designed for students who are looking to add Structural Collapse Breaching and Breaking to their skillset and it can also serve as a Breaching and Breaking Refresher for students that have previously taken a Structural Collapse Class.  We make every effort to ensure consistent terminology and training within the discipline of Urban Search and Rescue (US&R), so this course teaches tools and techniques consistent with the DHS/FEMA National US&R Response System Curriculum.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be issued a TEEX Certificate of Completion.
