Students who want to receive state-of-the-art computer training and earn college credit can do both through a partnership between TEEX and Palo Alto College in San Antonio.
TEEX’s Career Advancement and Applied Technology Training Division will prepare students to become certified in the industry standards of computer repair, network administration and Microsoft’s Certified System Engineer programs. Students will enroll in the classes through Palo Alto College, where they will be eligible for financial aid and employer tuition assistance programs. The courses will be taught at the CAAT training center on South Presa Street with flexible schedules to allow students to balance employment and family obligations with school.
The three programs offered are: Computer Service Technician, Computer Network Service Technician and Microsoft Certified System Engineer.
Graduates will receive certificates from TEEX and can earn up to 33 credit hours from Palo Alto College. Both TEEX and Palo Alto will also provide job placement services, said Jackie Gorman, CAAT division head.
CAAT’s training center and Palo Alto College are located on the southside of Bexar County. Besides offering a variety of two-year technical training programs, Palo Alto College recently began offering junior, senior and graduate level classes through a partnership with Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
