Description

This course is designed for the first-line company officer/supervisor. The Fire Officer I course satisfies the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 1021), Chapter 4 and provides the tools necessary to obtain certification through Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas (SFFMA), and National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).

It is designed around classroom lectures and group exercises to improve your abilities to manage a single fire company. This includes responsibilities such as the development of an Incident Action Plan (IAP), personnel management and mentoring, and community relations.

Description

This course is designed for the first-line company officer/supervisor. The Fire Officer I course satisfies the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 1021), Chapter 4 and provides the tools necessary to obtain certification through Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas (SFFMA), and National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).

Prerequisites

Pro Board Certification Only

You must either have State or Nationally Certification in the following disciplines no later that the last day of the course:

  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification
  • NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I Certification

Course Completion Requirements

Pro Board Certification

For Pro Board certification only, you must either have State or Nationally Certification in the following disciplines no later than the last day of the course:

  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification
  • NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I Certification

Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) skills testing is not offered as a part of the class. This course is eligible for Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) state certification via the TEEX Pro Board / Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Reciprocity process. Candidates, who successfully complete the course, pass the course final exam, and the Pro Board certification testing process will receive a Training Prior Approval (TPA) number on their Pro Board Certification. The Pro Board Certification with the TPA number may be submitted to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection for reciprocity.

    Annual Fire Training School Registration Requirements

    Annual Schools require that you use the online registration system. If you are using a Purchase Order (including H.B. 2604 voucher) please place the number in the PO field for payment. Please know we must have a copy of the PO or voucher within 48 hours of your registration or you will be canceled out of the class.

    The full rate will be applied after the early-bird registration deadline.
