Course Description


FSA100 - Forensic Technician - 80.00 Hours

Prerequisites

Participants must be licensed or certified peace officers with a current commission or non-commissioned personnel assigned to investigate/process crime scenes.

Recommended
Knowledge of basic photography.

Description

The 80-hour Forensic Technician course provides participants with information, techniques, and methodologies for conducting crime scene investigations and processing crime scene evidence. Course instruction is through lecture and case review with emphasis on practical laboratory application and scenario-based practical application. Photography is an intregal part of this course.

    Audience

    Newly assigned and current evidence collection personnel responsible for crime scene investigations.

    Other Information

    Participants will conduct field exercises and processing activities throughout the course; participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the activities by wearing older, comfortable clothing.
