Course Description


UXO203 - Advanced Ordnance Recognition for Law Enforcement - 100.00 Hours

Prerequisites

Participants must submit the following items at least 21 days prior to the first day of class:
  • Hazardous Device School Certification or equivalent
  • Photo Identification
  • Confirmation of current employment with either a law enforcement agency or other state/local emergency response authority using departmental letterhead

Description

This two-week course is designed for Hazardous Device School certified Bomb Technicians, or equivalents, desiring specialized training in the recognition and identification of military ordnance. The course offers comprehensive training through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on activities designed to enhance technician knowledge and increase response capabilities of state, local and federal emergency responders.

Audience

Bomb technicians and explosives specialists assigned to local, state and federal public safety bomb squads.

Other Information

Graduates of the course earn 10 International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) Continuing Education Units. This course does not teach Military Munitions Render Safe Procedures (RSP) and does not qualify individuals as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians.
