Course Description


RFT001 - Fire Training Academy - 437.00 Hours

Prerequisites

The requirements for the course include:
  • Students must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Students must possess at least a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Students must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license with no pending actions of suspension or revocation.
  • Texas residents only: Must submit proof of completion of an approved EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) course.

Description

The Recruit Academy is a 12 week program consisting of classroom and hands-on field application training. The academy is conducted through student participation, operational classes, field exercises and scenarios, classroom exercises and discussions. This program meets or exceeds all requirements set by the Texas Commissiion on Fire Protection and NFPA Standard 1001, FF1, FFII under IFSAC, and NPQS.
