The Texas Engineering Extension Service has established the Texas Forensic Science Academy. The Academy currently offers two certificate programs: Forensic Technician and Forensic Investigator. Ideal candidates are law enforcement professionals and non-commissioned personnel responsible for the proper investigation and processing of crime scenes, the collection and proper packaging of evidence, and final case preparation support. |

By attending TEEX’s Texas Forensic Science Academy and enrolling in Blinn College, you can receive 4 college credit hours in the area of Forensic Science. Additionally, CJLE 1245 and CJSA 1292 apply toward Blinn’s Marketable Skills Achievement Award as a Forensic Science Technician.

Partnership between TEEX and Texas A&M University
Forensic and investigative scientists rely on state-of-the-art scientific discoveries and technologies as tools to help them answer critical questons in a variety of settings. The Forensic and Investigative Sciences degree program of Texas A&M University prepares students for careers that involve the collection, preservation, processing and use of evidentiary information to solve problems. The collaboration between faculty of TAMU's Forensic and Investigative Sciences program and Subject Matter Experts of TEEX's Forensic Science Academy has resulted in the creation of curriculum that reflects cutting edge technologies and current field methodologies. |
