The role of the First Responder has greatly expanded. In addition to their normal set of skills they are being tasked to become part of an all-hazards emergency management team therefore, it is essential for them to know what resources are available to them, how the emergency management system works and how their agency will fit into the network.

This course it designed as an introduction and awareness level overview of the importance of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and its resources to improve response capabilities and efficiencies.
