This course is to introduce participants to the challenges and special considerations of treating pediatric patients exposed to chemical nerve agents.

Topics

  • Introduce the participant on assessments of pediatric patients exposed to nerve agents using the PAT system
  • Identify signs and symptoms of a pediatric patient exposed to a nerve agent
  • Introduce the participant to the JumpSTART system of triage
  • Discuss considerations specific to decontamination techniques of the pediatric patient
  • Identify the appropriate treatment for the pediatric patient exposed to nerve agents.

    Any emergency responder from all disciplines/services
