The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is a recognized leader in championing worker safety and health as the OSHA Training Institute’s Southwest Education Center. Last year TEEX trained more students in workplace safety than the federal OSHA Training Institute.

But many of our customers realize TEEX provides more than occupational safety and health training through federal OSHA courses. Our Certified Safety and Health Official Program (CSHO), which is recognized by CCHEST, has proven beneficial to hundreds of safety and health professionals and can also be applied to OHST certification. The TEEX CSHO also counts for 18 college credit hours towards an Associate of Applied Science degree from San Juan College, Farmington, NM, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Our instructors have real-world experience covering virtually every safety-related occupation. These OSHA trainers average 17 years in job-site, safety-related occupations and 12 years in industry-specific hazard recognition, evaluation and control methods. Major safety and health training programs include:

  • Occupational Safety and health

  • Construction safety

  • OSHA Train-the-Trainer

  • Hydrogen Sulfide Train-the-Trainer program

  • Certified Safety and Health Official program

  • Youth safety training

  • Continuing education units

  • Leadership and management

  • Environmental safety
